About Binary Graphics
Founded in Seattle in 1987 by John Knapp, Binary Graphics has always been
focused on providing high-end support to the graphic arts industry. In
the early days of the PostScript revolution, Binary provided desktop publishing
training to graphic designers and ad agencies as well as consulting on
equipment and workflow. The company oversaw the installation of hundreds
and hundreds of design workstations and trained the operators.
When commercial printers started accepting disks from their customers,
Binary Graphics dedicated itself to helping them capitalize on electronic
prepress technologies while avoiding the pitfalls. Binary has overseen
the installation of dozens of electronic prepress departments and trained
countless production operators, sales people, estimators and customer
service staffs. Along the way, Binary developed a highly successful integrated
workflow system and a set of workflow aids to help implement it.
In the following years, Binary has helped graphic arts professionals
of all kinds meet the challenges of the day. Current activities include
workflow refinement, color management, PDF workflows, computer to plate,
remote and soft proofing as well as integrating diverse technologies including
the world wide web. Binary is now focused on helping a wider range of
companies by releasing a comprehensive suite of products.
